Cloud Engineer – Birmingham
 
 SearchDATA Group have partnered with a Birmingham based supplier of energy services that are searching for a Cloud Engineer to join the team.
 We’re looking for someone that is capable of shaping the future of the company’s cloud capabilities, making sure the architecture is high-performance, reliable and scalable. As such, we do require an individual with a varied skill set and exposure to various cloud platforms in order to identify the best solution for the task at hand.
 You’ll be joining a business that are committed to staying ahead of the curve with advancing technologies, and one where you will be at the heart of evolving their business-critical platforms.
 
 Experience we’re looking for
 (We know we’re asking for a lot here! We’re not looking for a 100% match, we’re confident we can support you to learn and upskill where necessary if you think you’re up to the challenge) 
·Expertise in provisioning cloud services using Serverless / PaaS architectures.
·Expertise in establishing and monitoring cloud data pipelines.
·OOP design experience, experience in Python preferable
·Experience working with REST APIs
·Extensive experience in database design, SQL queries and ETL techniques
·Strong scripting/automation skills
·Knowledge of PowerBI integration
·A security-focused mindset, with specific Cloud Security knowledge
·Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skill
·Experience implementing new infrastructure within medium-large environments
 
What you’ll be doing 
·Lead the development of overall cloud architecture to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
·Design security controls, implementation and operation of security tooling & ensure security of all assets in the cloud by integrating security best practices.
·Developing infrastructure-as-code, utilising pipelines and tools such as Github, Terraform, Packer, Jenkins, Ansible or similar.
·Monitor and manage capacity requirements of cloud services, resolving or escalating issues
·Provide technical expertise for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across a wide variety of network, storage, and compute technologies
·Implementing technical cloud solutions independently and with supplier team
·Create cloud hosted pipelines utilising data available through all business systems (e.g. PureCloud for telephony, Facebook for Social)
·Automate solutions to business processes using appropriate tools and bring new best practices to the business
·Responsible for maintaining continuity plans for out of hours service
